Canadian National Committee of the Commission Internationale de l’Éclairage(CNC/CIE)

The CNC/CIE is the collective Canadian voice of people interested in the science and art of light and lighting. The CNC/CIE represents Canada to the world.

The Commission Internationale de l’Éclairage is a world wide technical, scientific and cultural, non-profit autonomous organization with its Central Bureau located in Vienna, Austria.

As a member country, Canada contributes to the ongoing work of the Commission and its technical committees.

The 55th annual meeting of the Canadian National Committee of CIE (CNC/CIE) will be held in Vancouver, B.C. on October 14-15, 2010.

There will be an informal workshop for the Canadian lighting industry on 15 October.
The workshop will include presentations by CNC/CIE members on key issues in the lighting industry such as:
- Solid-state lighting — the next big transitions
- Energy codes — coming to a province near you
- Lighting quality
In addition there will be a panel discussion led by industry and research leaders on the most important issues facing the lighting community.
